Terms of Service
Last Updated: October 17, 2026 • Published by Islamic Digital Initiative
SalatNow generates prayer times utilizing standard mathematical and astronomical algorithms (solar declination, equation of time, solar depression angles, and horizon models). While these algorithms reflect widely accepted Islamic standards, actual visible timings may vary due to local atmospheric conditions, air pressure, local horizon obstructions, altitude/elevation, and differing juristic determinations.
Advisory: SalatNow is an assistive computational tool. Users are strongly advised to verify congregation times (Iqamah) and local sighting rulings with their local mosque committees, regional Islamic scholars, and official fatwa authorities.
1 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the SalatNow web application located at salat-now.truxio.bond, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should discontinue use of the platform.
2 Nature of the Service
SalatNow is provided as a free public utility dedicated to facilitating Islamic spiritual practice. The features provided—including daily prayer timetables, upcoming prayer countdowns, monthly Hijri timetables, Qibla compass azimuth calculations, and audio alerts—are offered on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis for educational and convenience purposes.
3 Qibla Compass & Device Sensor Limitations
The Qibla direction computed by SalatNow utilizes the mathematically exact Great-Circle forward azimuth equation from your coordinates to the Kaaba in Makkah (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E). However:
- Hardware compass accuracy depends entirely on your device's built-in magnetometer and gyroscope.
- Magnetometers can be distorted by magnetic cases, nearby laptops, metallic furniture, vehicle frames, and reinforced concrete rebar.
- Users must calibrate their device compass (via a figure-8 motion in the air) and verify general alignment against physical landmarks and established mosque orientations.
4 Acceptable Use & User Conduct
Users agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, flood, or launch denial-of-service attacks against SalatNow infrastructure or upstream APIs.
- Scrape or programmatically harvest data at rates that degrade platform performance for regular worshippers.
- Reproduce, duplicate, or sell any proprietary visual elements without proper attribution to SalatNow and the Islamic Digital Initiative.
5 Intellectual Property & Open Source Licensing
SalatNow's original codebase is maintained under an open-source ethos on GitHub (github.com/sunny-programmer22/salat-now). Content, educational articles, and specific architectural implementations are copyright © 2026 H M Jubair Alam / Islamic Digital Initiative.
6 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, SalatNow, its founder H M Jubair Alam, and contributors shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or religious damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the platform or from reliance upon calculation timetables generated herein.
