About SalatNow
SalatNow is an open, independent digital platform engineered to provide Muslims worldwide with precise, distraction-free prayer schedules and spherical Qibla direction, upholding the highest standards of astronomical accuracy and user privacy.
Astronomical Precision
Engineered around standard solar declination, the equation of time, and celestial twilight angles, seamlessly reconciling classical Fiqh with modern orbital mechanics.
Distraction-Free Worship
We reject spammy popups, invasive audio advertisements, and behavioral profiling. We present spiritual utilities in a clean, serene, and aesthetic digital sanctuary.
100% Privacy by Design
Your physical coordinates never leave your browser. All geolocation calculations run in local device memory, guaranteeing total location confidentiality.
Our Mission & Purpose
In contemporary digital spaces, many prayer utility applications have become burdened with intrusive push notifications, tracking SDKs, data monetization brokers, and advertisements that disrupt worship and compromise modesty.
SalatNow was conceived with a fundamentally different vision: to create a lightweight, high-performance web instrument that respects the sanctity of Salah. Whether a Muslim is traveling across time zones, studying in a university library, or working in a corporate office, they should be able to instantly ascertain their prayer window and Qibla orientation within milliseconds, without privacy intrusion or visual noise.
Our application operates on a Dual-Engine architecture: it queries the reputable Aladhan API for live geographic datasets, while housing an autonomous mathematical astronomical calculations engine directly inside client-side JavaScript. If your device loses internet connectivity in the middle of a desert, at sea, or during an airplane flight, SalatNow continues to calculate accurate solar prayer timings entirely offline.
The Dual-Engine Resiliency Protocol
When connected to the internet, SalatNow leverages high-availability synchronized API nodes. When offline, our engine computes solar coordinates via Keplerian orbit equations, Equation of Time approximations, and standard spherical trigonometry azimuths.
Founder & Leadership
H M Jubair Alam
Founder & Chief ArchitectH M Jubair Alam is a software engineer, digital product architect, and proponent of ethical technology who directs the Islamic Digital Initiative. With an emphasis on algorithm optimization, clean typography, and privacy-preserving systems, he founded SalatNow to bridge ancient Islamic celestial observation traditions with contemporary web engineering.
While SalatNow implements rigorous astronomical methodologies validated by prominent Islamic organizations (including the Muslim World League, Umm al-Qura University Makkah, and the Islamic Society of North America), local congregation times (Iqamah) are decided by independent mosque committees and local sighting councils. Users are encouraged to align their congregational prayers with their local community masjids.
